As we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by welcoming and attentive staff who were dedicated to making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. A dinner reservation was already made and the reception staff learned our names and checked our dietary requirements plus likes & dislikes. The attention to detail with this service was just outstanding. The lobby is an exercise in understated elegance, with plush furnishings and a serene atmosphere that sets the tone for your entire visit. We immediately noticed the meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel, from the intricate artwork to the carefully selected furnishings.

Whether you opt for a deluxe room, a suite, or one of the hotel's opulent villas, we were treated to breathtaking views of the ocean or the mountains.
The rooms are spacious and lavish, with every amenity you could wish for. From the sumptuous bedding to the state-of-the-art entertainment systems, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure your utmost comfort and satisfaction. We absolutely loved the B-Africa and Charlotte Rhys toiletries all around our bathroom for a luxurious spa experience. And for families, the hotel offers special family-friendly rooms that are thoughtfully designed with the needs of children in mind. On this occassion, we stayed in a one-bedroom sea-facing suite with the most exquisite views. Coupled with a large spacious lounge, a balcony with 360 degrees of the sea, lion's head and the mountains, which leads onto a large grassy terrace for our son to play, we had the most fabulous stay. Our son was welcomed with a 12Apostles Travel journal, cute little slippers and the cosiest monogrammed bathroom which he loved wearing throughout the stay. The playful sleeping ‘tent’ was set up in the living room which made his stay such a magical experience.

Breakfast can be taken inside a comfortable yet stylish seating, or on the terrace for the most superb sea views. For lunch and dinner, it turns into a seafood lover's paradise, with a menu that celebrates the bounty of the ocean. The restaurant's location, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, provides a stunning backdrop for your meal. The menu features fresh seafood dishes like West Coast mussels, grilled line fish, and seafood platters that are perfect for sharing. A special mention to the staff here who blew our expectations with the attention to detail by remembering our names, our breakfast specials and gave our son a cute little crochetted lion as a special present.
The Cafe Grill is equally impressive and also available for breakast. With a menu that showcases the best of local and international cuisine. The restaurant's terrace offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and rock pool, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a family celebration. We had the most amazing sushi here, something you should definitely try when visiting Cape Town.

We tried the one-hour deep tissue massage and then dipped into the hydrotherapy bath, sauna, steam room, and a tranquility lounge where we could unwind and savor the calm ambiance. The highly trained therapists provided personalized care and attention to ensure that each treatment is tailored to our unique needs and preferences. The spa has won several awards, including "Best Luxury Hotel Spa" and "Best Spa in Africa," and is a must-visit for anyone seeking a luxurious and indulgent spa experience in Cape Town.

There are two swimming pools at the hotel: one overlooking the ocean and the other the mountain, the former of which is heated and slightly more suitable for kids due to the standing height. We visited off-season but in-season there are also children's activities such as pizza making, baking and treasure hunts to occupy the kids.
The cinema at 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa is a luxurious and intimate space where you can indulge in a captivating cinematic experience. With plush velvet seats, elegant decor, and state-of-the-art technology, this cinema is a true gem. Hosting a midday show for kids, and then an afternoon and evening showing, the 16-seat theatre is equipped with a 160-inch screen, Dolby digital sound, and a vast selection of movies, from classic films to modern blockbusters. A variety of gourmet snacks and drinks were offered so we enjoyed our movie with all the comforts of a high-end cinema. The hotel also offers babysitting services, so parents can enjoy some much-needed relaxation time.

The 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa is located in one of the most spectacular and coveted areas of Cape Town. The hotel's location, nestled between the mountains and the ocean, provided a stunning backdrop for our stay. The nearby beaches such as Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Clifton and Bakoven, and hiking trails at Kloof Corner and Lion's Head, offer endless opportunities for adventure and exploration. With a mere 10 minutes away from Hout Bay, we also could visit the World of Birds and had a quick trip to Duiker Island, where there is a colony of seals. It's a perfect location to also get to the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain Cable, or Kloof Street (City Centre) for it's array of restaurants, all within 20 minutes.
As we departed from the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa, we were filled with a sense of awe and gratitude for the unforgettable experiences and memories that we created with our family.
