Unwind in Paradise: The Ultimate Family-Friendly Getaway at Constance Ephelia Seychelles

Welcome to the Seychelles, a destination close to my heart, as I had the privilege of visiting this breathtaking archipelago a few years ago. The moment I stepped off the plane onto the island of Mahe, I was instantly captivated by its natural beauty, friendly locals, and laid-back island vibe. With its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and lush tropical landscapes, it's no wonder that the Seychelles is known as one of the most stunning destinations in the world.

Mahe, the largest island in the Seychelles, is a true tropical paradise, offering a plethora of activities for travelers seeking adventure or relaxation. And nestled on the island's western coast lies the luxurious Constance Ephelia Seychelles resort, a haven of tranquility that blends seamlessly into its lush surroundings. From the warm hospitality of the staff to the world-class amenities and exciting activities, the resort is the ultimate family-friendly getaway.

So whether you're seeking to create unforgettable memories with your loved ones or simply unwind and soak up the island's natural beauty, Mahe and the Constance Ephelia Seychelles resort offer an unforgettable tropical escape that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Family Perfection with Accomodation

The accommodation options at the Constance Ephelia Seychelles are nothing short of impressive. Families of all sizes can choose from spacious suites and villas that offer a luxurious oasis with breathtaking views of the lush tropical gardens and turquoise waters. Each room is carefully designed to provide families with the ultimate comfort, luxury, and privacy they deserve.

The Junior Suites, where we stayed, are located in the South Beach area of the resort and are perfect for families with one child. These spacious suites offer a bedroom with a king-size bed, a sitting area with a sofa bed, and a bathroom with a separate shower and bath. The suites also feature a private terrace or balcony that overlooks the tropical gardens.

The Senior Suites are located in both the North and South Beach areas of the resort and are ideal for families with two children. These suites feature a bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate living room with a sofa bed, and a bathroom with a separate shower and bath. The suites also have a private terrace or balcony that offers stunning views of the ocean or the tropical gardens.

The Family Villas are situated in the North Beach area of the resort and are perfect for larger families. These villas offer two bedrooms with king-size beds, a separate living room with a sofa bed, and two bathrooms with separate showers and baths. The villas also feature a private terrace or balcony that overlooks the ocean or the tropical gardens.

Picturesque Beaches on the Island of Mahe

The resort's has two beaches, the North and South Beaches.

The North Beach, which is a private part of Port Launay Marine Park, is a pristine white sand beach that stretches for 1.5 kilometers and is perfect for families who want to relax and soak up the sun. Here you will also find, on the non-private side, a host of local boats for hire, activities such as fishing hosted by locals, and then a Diving Centre affiliated to the resort, offering yacht hires, diving, snorkel gear hire, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and other water activities. We loved the diving centre and hired a yacht for a day trip to La Digue and Cocos Islands, and went diving and snorkelling with them off different smaller islands close to the Port Launay Marine Park. Our son particularly loved it and the staff were absolutely amazing with kids.

The South Beach, on the other hand, is a bit more secluded and is perfect for families who want to enjoy a quieter beach experience. The beach features crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and other water activities, but during the month of March we did find it overridden with algae.

Family-Friendliness to it's Peak

The resort has a wide range of child-friendly activities and experiences, ensuring that families of all ages can enjoy their stay. The Constance Kids Club, for ages 4-11, is a haven of creativity and fun, where children can indulge in a range of supervised indoor and outdoor activities. From painting to sandcastle building and treasure hunts, there's never a dull moment for kids at the club. They can also learn about the local flora and fauna and take part in eco-activities such as tree-planting and turtle watching. There is also a little pool at the club for swimming together with slides and swings. The staff are super attentive and take the kids to feed the tortoises daily. The club runs from 8 am - 8 pm, so we took advantage of this on mornings when we went diving.

Older kids and teenagers can enjoy beach volleyball or table tennis while parents unwind with a book on the pristine North Beach. The resort's cinema is the perfect place for families to unwind after a day of adventure. With a state-of-the-art surround sound system and comfortable seating, it's a great place to relax and watch a family movie. Alternatively, families can head to the games room for some friendly competition, where they can enjoy pool, board games, and arcade games. There are also many bike rides on offer for small kids to adults.

The babysitting service provided by the resort ensures that parents can have a worry-free night out or spa day while their children are well taken care of.

A Gastronomic Gestustatory Experience

The dining experience at the Constance Ephelia Seychelles is nothing short of exceptional. The buffet restaurants offered a superb selection for both breakfasts and dinners. The resort offers a variety of culinary delights to suit all palates with five restaurant dotted around the rooms for ease. The Cyann restaurant serves Japanese cuisine, while the Seselwa restaurant offers authentic Creole dishes. The Helios restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and features a wood-fired pizza oven, perfect for a family dinner. Adam and Eve serves delicious Asian food via set menu. The resort's bars also offer a variety of refreshing cocktails and drinks that are perfect for a hot day.

Relaxation for the Parents

For those seeking a relaxing retreat during their stay and a break from the kids, the Constance Ephelia Seychelles boasts an exquisite Spa by Constance. Nestled within lush tropical gardens, the spa offers a range of luxurious treatments, from massages and facials to body wraps and scrubs, designed to rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit.

The spa's expert therapists use only the finest organic ingredients, including natural oils, herbs, and spices, to provide a truly indulgent and holistic experience. Guests can choose from a variety of treatments, including the signature "Seychelles Secrets" massage, which incorporates traditional Seychellois techniques with aromatic coconut oil, or the "Elemis Pro-Collagen Age Defy" facial, which uses powerful marine extracts to hydrate and firm the skin.

In addition to the spa, the resort also features a well-equipped gym, offering guests the opportunity to maintain their fitness routine while on holiday. The gym features state-of-the-art equipment, including cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights, as well as a dedicated yoga studio, where guests can practice yoga and meditation amidst breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.

For those seeking a more personalized fitness experience, the resort's expert personal trainers are on hand to offer customized fitness programs and one-on-one training sessions, tailored to each guest's individual needs and goals. Whether guests prefer a challenging workout or a gentle yoga practice, the resort's gym and spa offer the perfect balance of relaxation and rejuvenation.

The resort also has a tennis court, a gym, and a jogging track for those who want to stay active during their stay.

The Verdict

In all, we loved the resort offerings and the Constance Ephelia offered so much to do, the rooms are perfect, the food of very high quality, and it might be one of the best kids clubs we have witnessed with hours running from 8 am - 8 pm. Of course every resort or hotel comes with some downsides which I must also bring to your attention. To caveat, we travelled during peak times, in the Easter period, so some of the downsides I mention might be specific to heaving periods.

The spread of the resort did mean that getting to the North Beach in the mornings was a little hassle as you had to wait every 10 minutes for a buggy to take you there and it only left from specific spots (thankfully our room was close to the gym and reception which was a pick up spot).

Reservations at different restaurants also need to be made in advance to ensure you could experience each restaurant at the resort and contacting concierge on the phone was practically impossible (no pick-up) so we had to walk there and face a long queue for this.

A running Diving Centre was located only on North Beach during our stay so the club on South Beach was closed for any activities, which was a pity as it meant this beach was usually empty and everyone flocked to North Beach, which meant that you needed to get there early to get sun beds.

Even with the above caveats, the Constance Ephelia Seychelles offers an amazing family-friendly resort option on the island of Mahe that offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. With its stunning scenery, luxurious amenities, and exciting activities, it's the perfect getaway for families looking to make unforgettable memories. Whether you are seeking a week of relaxation or a week of adventure, it offers so many activities to fit your needs. It's truly a haven of tranquility that is sure to make your family vacation unforgettable.

Much Love

Shanti
